Hello my name is Shawna. I am 38 yrs old. I am from Pennslyvania. I have had an interest in the "gift" for a very long time.
My family has had premonitions for as long as I can remember. My mother and sisters and grandmother has all had dreams that came true. My mother always has dreams and gut feelings about us as children, which also has come true. My grandmother even had a dream about one of her children being in a car accident and unfortunately it came true. It is because of these incidents where my families premonitions have come true that I had wanted to get into discovering my own "gift."
When I decided to discover my gift that I already knew I had but was afraid of connecting with....it was the best move I ever made!! I myself have had dreams that came true...nothing bad like my grandmothers but dreams to let me know that my boyfriend was cheating and things like that. When I realized that my dreams came true...I wanted a way that I could grow even stronger in my gut feelings and my dreams and premonitions and the thing that I use to grow stronger with my "gift" is Tarot Cards.
I have had my deck for about 12 yrs now and about 10 yrs ago I started using them and playing with them...I didn't use them the first couple of years because I didn't want people to think I was strange and I didn't want people to think it was wrong for me to have an interest in the cards. So I kept it from my friends and family and would only play with them when I was by myself.
One day I asked my cousin if I could read them for her and (mind you I was afraid of her reaction to it) she said yes I could, so I went next door (we lived in the same apartment complex) and read them for her. She said I did really well with them and from that point on I went ahead and let the rest of my family know that I have a deck and have continued to read for my family since. At first I had to use the book for the meanings and to tie it all together...but now I don't use the book at all and my friends and family have all said that I am REALLY REALLY good at reading the tarot cards for them. I now have a friend whom I have been mentoring because she has an intrerest in them and I have been helping her to learn and understand them.
While I am reading the cards, I usually get really strong feelings off of the cards and sometimes I have images off of them as well. I am also good at giving time frames...a client would ask me how many years or how many weeks or months and I usually get a really good feeling from myself when the question is they had will come to pass.
I never charged for the tarot readings I did for people, up until about five years ago. Some of my friends started offering me money for doing the readings because they said I was so accurate with the readings I have done for them that they wanted to pay me for doing it for them...at first I didn't want to except the money then I realized that ONE, I can make a living doing this for people and TWO, I feel really, really fulfilled when I feel like I help people through the cards. I actually have a repeat client that I go to that I have done tarot parties for...and they are very satisfied with my readings that I have actually done quite a few of these tarot parties for this same client.
By my doing these tarot parties I have gotten pretty good word of mouth customers. Every time I do a tarot party for one person I have gotten two or three others that want to book a party as well, so my business that way is picking up significantly!!
